WHO ARE WE
WHAT DO WE OFFER

The non-profit association Genossenschaftsforum e.V. was founded in 1993 by twelve Berlin housing cooperatives in order to more effectively promote the benefits and potential of cooperative housing for urban development. Thanks to its excellent work, the association rapidly grew and currently represents 49 housing cooperatives in Berlin and Potsdam. In 2021 the association opened “cooperativ Werkraum” as a multifunctional work and exhibition space. It can be understood, as a small state-of the art museum with regular opening hours, as well as offering a workshop program that inspires to discuss the cooperativ model as a building block for the economic and social transformation process ahead of us.
The cooperativ Werkraum’s interdisciplinary team of four enjoys designing new workshops and engaging with a wide range of visitors from hyper local to interstellar. They are also happy to contribute to research of all kinds. Unfortunately, their language skills are (currently) limited to German and English. For now, the exhibition is in German only. Within these constraints the team is more than happy to show you around, help you out, or at least point you in the right direction.
